Twin Peaks Middle School
Weekly RAM Newsletter
From the desk of Principal Mills
Happy Sunday Ram Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you all safe and starting to enjoy the Winter Holiday. I had mentioned that last week's newsletter would be the last one for 2020, but in light of recent developments and decisions affecting our TPMS community, I wanted to send out an update on developments that will certainly impact our school community. Plus there's a few other things to share too... if you haven't had a chance to hear our TPMS Orchestra and Band's Winter Concerts, please check out the links below - it's guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit! There is also information below about our upcoming Spelling Bee in January - sign up early and receive your preparation materials over the Winter Break.
On Thursday night, the PUSD School Board decided to temporarily suspend on-campus learning for ALL PUSD students at ALL PUSD schools for a two-week period following Winter Break: January 4 through January 15, 2021. During these two weeks, all students will learn from home virtually with their existing teachers. On-campus learning is scheduled to resume Tuesday, January 19, 2021. This temporary suspension is to help minimize the spread of any illnesses and reduce the impact of quarantining due to positive cases within our shared PUSD community.
Twin Peaks MS will plan to follow the bell schedule and calendar we have been sharing and discussing in our reopening plans; the links to our TPMS website are provided below for your convenience. Please keep in mind that these schedules may still change between now and when we welcome on-campus students back to school - these links will remain active and will be updated with any changes:

Our campus, including our offices and library, will be closed to the public during this temporary suspension in order to promote safety and wellness.
As shared by PUSD, during winter break and afterward, we ask that you help in slowing the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses by wearing a face covering, keeping a safe distance from others, minimize close contacts and gatherings, and remember to wash your hands frequently. If you or your family is considering travel at this time or planning a trip, please be aware of California’s travel advisory and review this important information from the CDC. We appreciate your support in reducing exposure for our students and staff. Thank you for your continued support, grace and empathy during this extraordinary and unprecedented time.
All my best to your family this holiday season,
Steve Mills

Entry deadline is March 31, 2021.
Visit the website to find all the details on how to enter; helpful background on climate change, climate justice, and climate solutions; and additional resources for educators. https://coastal.ca.gov/climatechallenge/
