Buckingham was "Feeling Groovy" at the Book Fair
Last week, positive reading vibes filled the school as everyone was Feelin’ Groovy at the Book Fair with Peace, Love, and BOOKS! The Buckingham Community was really digging the vibes as we celebrated reading. Students and staff were hip to the groovy fashions as we kicked-off a far-out week wearing clothes from the 60's! Special thanks to all the cool cats who volunteered their time and energy in making this a great event - where the school and our students benefit!

Muscles for McKenna Gala - Help Cure SMA 2016
On Friday, March 18th, two of our Mightiest of Buckingham Knights, Mckenna and Meghan Ellixson (1st Grade), joined family and friends to celebrate the 4th annual Muscles for Mckenna Gala - with the hopes of finding a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Mckenna has Type 3-SMA which results in difficulty running, jumping, climbing and falls often without warning. Children with Type 3 SMA tend to have a normal life expectancy, but there is no way to determine the pace at which the disease will progress. Currently, there is no cure. Mckenna’s symptoms will only increase as she ages, but she is a fighter and lives life to the fullest!
Several from the Buckingham staff joined McKenna and Meghan at the event to support the search for a cure - You can also USE THIS LINK to make a donation to help CURE SMA!
